Mahbanou Privacy Policy

Mahbanou for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch · Effective September 24, 2026

The short version: Mahbanou collects no personal information from anyone, children included. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

What stays on your device

The app saves your settings (language, theme, the calendars and occasions you show, your place for sunrise and the gahs, and your reminder choices) on your device only. It never sends them anywhere, and I can't see them. Change or turn off any of them in Settings; deleting the app (and its watch app) erases everything.

Location

Only if you tap Use my location, the app asks iOS for your location once, to work out sunrise, sunset and the gah times. It rounds the position to about a kilometre and keeps it with your settings on the device. It's never sent anywhere. You can pick a city from the list instead and never grant location access.

Notifications

Reminders for occasions, the morning's roj and the gahs are local notifications, scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent to a server, and they're off until you turn them on.

Widgets and Apple Watch

The widgets read your settings on the device. If you use the Apple Watch app, the iPhone sends it the same settings directly over Apple's watch connection, so both show the same calendars. No one else receives them.

Network

The app works offline and doesn't connect to the internet. Links in Settings open in your browser or the App Store.

Children

Mahbanou is for everyone. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
