Mathness! Privacy Policy

Mathness! for iPhone and iPad · Effective October 16, 2026

The short version: Mathness! collects no personal information from anyone, children included. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

What stays on your device

The app saves lesson progress, drill scores, settings (sound, theme, language) and any players you add on your device only. It never sends them anywhere, and I can't see them. Settings › Reset progress erases lesson progress and scores (with players, it asks whose first); deleting a player erases their name, picture and progress; deleting the app erases everything.

Players

Players are optional. A player is a name and one of twelve pictures, so everyone on a shared device keeps their own lessons and scores. A first name or a nickname is plenty. Players stay on the device with the rest of the app's data and are never sent anywhere.

Notifications

Practice reminders are local notifications, scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent to a server. A grown-up turns them on and picks the time and days; they come only on days without practice and stop by themselves after a week away. Change or switch them off in the app’s Settings › Reminders, or in iOS Settings.

Printed sheets

Worksheets, facts sheets and practice pages are made on the device. A player's name goes on a sheet only if the Name line option is left on. A sheet goes only where you print it, save it or send it: printing and saving need no grown-up check, while Email and Share ask first. Each sheet's QR code holds the lesson's link on zubin.dev (a facts sheet's holds its game), which opens it in the app; those pages have no analytics.

Purchases

The full version is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. I never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. The app only learns from Apple whether the full version has been bought, so it can open the extra content. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Network

The app works offline. It connects to the App Store for the purchase and to restore it. To show which of my other apps are out yet, it also asks Apple's public App Store lookup about those apps (their App Store IDs and your region's country code), at most twice a day; nothing about you goes with it, and I receive nothing. Links in Settings › About open in your browser. Links out of the app wait behind a quick grown-up check.

Children

Mathness! is made to be safe for young learners. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
