Touch typing, two keys at a time.
Type It teaches touch typing the way a typing class does: fingers on the home row, two new keys at a time, and eyes on the words instead of the keys. A colour-coded guide keyboard lights the next key and two hands show which finger types it. Every lesson and drill is free.

A guide keyboard
Keys in finger colours light up one at a time, with the opposite shift for a capital. Works with any hardware keyboard, or tap the guide on screen.
Hands that show the finger
Two hands under the keyboard light the finger to use. Turn the keyboard or hand guide off as you get faster, and pick one of six hand colours.
Timed and untimed drills
Drills of 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes, or short, medium and long texts at your own pace, with live words per minute and accuracy.
Players
Optional players, each with a name and a picture, so everyone on a shared iPad keeps their own lessons and settings.
Made for iPad
Landscape or portrait, full screen, in Split View or a Stage Manager window. Four key sounds and light and dark themes.
Free and private
No purchases, accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Progress stays on the iPad, and links out of the app wait behind a quick grown-up check.
